Christmas Lighting Season is Finally Over.....and it was a Huge One!
We are ecstatic with the results of this year's Christmas Lighting season. We offer a full service Design, Installation and Removal service for Christmas Lighting. We provide this Christmas Lighting service for both Residential and Commercial clients. In fact we had a number of clients that loved some of our tree light wraps so much that they asked us if they can keep the lights up year round. Please see below for a few samples of some of our Christmas Light projects.

LED or Incandescent -- Landscape Lights
LED Outdoor Light Example:
I get the question, "Should I go LED or Incandescent" from clients more frequently every day. To answer the question, lets look at the Pros of LED:
- Lamps last 5 times as long
- Power consumption is 25% that of Incandescent >> saving on your energy bill!
- You can add 4 times as many lights to the system
- Changes to the outdoor lighting are easier to make
- There is less wire to install and transformers are smaller
The traditional complaint about LED was that it was too expensive and the color is not right. That is far from true. All of the photos in this post are LED. I even threw in one Incandescent to show you that there really is no difference. As far as cost, yes LED lamps and fixtures do cost more for LED Outdoor Lighting. However, the labor and total wire and transformer size are all less for LED. Therefore, the cost is only slightly more for LED.
Another LED Lighting example:
LED is not perfect technology and I have seen premature failures as with anything mechanical. However, it is technology that is here to stay and should be strongly considered with any new landscape lighting system. In addition, any existing landscape lighting system can be converted to LED very easily.

Deck Lighting = Safety Lighting
Did you ever wonder why your house is so dark on the steps or if your friends or family were going to make it down the steps without falling? Well, there is an excellent solution. Landscape Lighting called Deck Lighting is the answer! Deck Lighting is simply the process of placing small light fixtures (approximately the size of your fist) at the top of the hand rails along the deck where needed. There are many types and styles of deck lights. Carolina Landscape Lighting prefers deck lights mounted waist high as opposed to fixtures mounted in the risers of the steps. The reason is very simple. You get a lot more light output on the steps with fewer fixtures using this technique. Plus, this options is less expensive because you need fewer fixtures.
You might ask where does the wire go to power the fixtures. Carolina Landscape Lighting takes tremendous pride in hiding the wire so it is virtually indivisible so that the process looks 100% integrated to the structure.
With the elevation of the homes around Charleston and amount of water there are plenty of Steps, Decks and Docks that could use extra safety lighting. Deck Lighting is often times the perfect solution to make your steps much safer.
As you can see from the photos Deck Lighting also is quite BEAUTIFUL!
